When marketing coordinator, Ryan Smith, at Redfin.com reached out to me to share my insight for their feature, Creative Ways to Display Photos in Your Home, I was thrilled for the opportunity to share something I am so passionate about!
They have selected notable experts in the field to share their best tips for homeowners looking for unique ideas on displaying photography in their homes (or even commercial place of business), offering expertise talking about colors and lighting, gallery walls that tell a story, to having framed prints or displaying unframed works of art.. and different uses for a variety of materials.

Setting an intention is the first step to creating a warm and welcoming environment in your home or place of business. Whether displayed in a bedroom, living room, dining room, office or hallway, an important question to ask yourself is.. ‘What kind of feeling do I want to create in this space for myself and others to experience?’
Photographic images are living, breathing works of art that can offer feelings such as peace, tranquility, inspiration, unity, etc. — while transcending that very energy into any space, place, and viewer.
A great way to print and display images in order to create an experience is with large format prints 30x40 or larger depending on the size of the space, printed as canvas gallery wraps (on a stretcher frame) or on metal. Both come ready to hang so no need to go through an extra step to frame.
This type of display also lends to focus solely on the artwork giving the viewer a feeling of actually being part of the image.
