Have you ever been looking at something so intently in one direction and then someone points out something amazing directly behind you?
This has happened to me several times not only in creating images.. but also in conversations.. where I might be asking a question to someone I think would know the answer...
And then a voice from behind me will chime in with exactly what I am looking for...
Or better yet.. introducing me to an even greater experience I didn't see coming.
That's what happened during this majestic sunset the other week in San Diego.
It had been overcast for weeks. My perception was a sure sign June Gloom is behind us –– a term expressing the weather for one of the cloudiest months of the year along the coast of Southern California –– and it's been sunny ever since!
So I'm sitting at my computer desk one Saturday evening.. and suddenly a golden glow filled my space. I looked up out the window to see the sky in its early stages of sunset, so I thought...
I walked out my door, in awe, looking due west –– iPhone in hand capturing the magnificence –– color and vibrancy changing by the second!
A woman on the sidewalk was walking by and said,
“Have you seen the rainbow behind you?”
I felt my eyebrows raise wondering where she came from not noticing her nearing.
"I have not!", I replied in surprised excitement.
I stepped out a ‘few’ feet to get a view.. turned around.. and was again.. in complete awe!
I thanked the kind woman as she disappeared from my view.
Standing still, I inhaled this presence of life into memory.. soaking in the wonder all around.
To me, this woman was an angel who ‘happened’ to be walking by at the very moment I stepped out of my home.. on a path that has fairly little foot traffic.
I surely would have missed this miraculous sight had it not been for her connection.
I'm also pretty sure my dad (who has passed on) was sending his love.. and made sure I saw the message... (rainbows are kind of our thing ;) 🌈🦋💫
